Nuestra Señora del Carmen Mill from Frigiliana, owned by the company De la Torre S.A, boasts of being the only factory that produces sugar cane honey in Europe, after the Guadalfeo Sugar Factory closed its doors in 2006, in Salobrena (Granada). He currently sells around 400 tons of this product, well known in Malaga, but not so much in other Spanish provinces. In an attempt to achieve greater promotion of the product, the commercial director of the firm, Javier Mesa de la Torre, has met at Alimentaria with important and prominent chefs in an attempt to make it easier for consumers to know what cane syrup is and its uses in the kitchen.
